An Austrian-born, New York based composer, producer and singer, Dorit Chrysler is one of the world's most visible Theremenists and cofounder of the New York Theremin Society. Her most recent album, "Calder Plays Theremin," was released in 2023.
Chrysler has composed music for the Venice Biennale and has performed at Lincoln Center, Coachella Festival, World Trade Center, Roskilde Festival, Vienna Konzerthaus, Moogfest & CBGB’s. Her contemporary compositions have taken her around the world, including concerts in Brazil, Japan, Russia & Australia. Having released several records, she has also written soundtracks for TV and cinema, as well as for visual artists.
A regular at Caramoor, Dorit is using her residency at the Lab to study, for the first time, the papers and music of Lucie Rosen, who founded Caramoor with her husband and was an avid Theremenist.
