Katarina Jerinic

Katarina Jerinic makes photographs, maps and ephemera about built landscapes and past and present phenomena of particular places. In her current work, she is particularly interested in the conflated histories of deep planetary time and what happened recently, as well as the overlapping geologic forces of ancient advancing ice sheets and someone walking down the street.

Jerinic’s solo exhibitions and projects include SPACES, Cleveland, OH (2020); Baxter St at CCNY, New York, NY (2018); Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art at University of Nevada Las Vegas (2017); and a public project along the Gowanus Canal, Brooklyn, NY supported by NYC Department of Transportation Art Program and community partners (2017). Her work has been included in exhibitions at BRIC, Brooklyn, NY; Queens Museum, NY; Bronx Museum of the Arts, NY; among others. She has received project support from Puffin Foundation, Teaneck, NJ; Times Square Alliance, New York, NY; Brooklyn Arts Council, NY and chashama, New York, NY. Residencies include Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, New York, NY; Typa, Tartu, Estonia; SPACES, Cleveland, OH; Baxter St at Camera Club of New York, NY; Center for Book Arts, New York, NY; and MacDowell, Peterborough, NH. Her work has been discussed in HyperallergicNew York MagazineWashington City PaperWashington PostPhiladelphia Inquirer, and more. Jerinic has an MFA in Photography and Related Media from School of Visual Arts and a BA in History from American University. She lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.
